WHAT:Man Up & Stand Up
WHEN: February 7 2014
WHERE: Waipahu Filcom Center

Happy new year to all of you Man-up & Stand-up fight fans.  To start up the new year, we are throwing one of our own promoters into the mix.  The best way to know a fighter is to become a fighter.  Most promoters just make events.  Man-up & Stand-up promoters bang (Das right).  Heehee.  Our SEC promoter is a virgin to the ring but lived in Halawa. No, not Halawa Correctional Facility.  Heehee, the Halawa neighborHOOD.  Chee-hu.  Instead of a first timer against a first timer, promoter Andrew Garcia requested to fight kickboxing/ muay thai veteran Mark Kumai (OH YEAH).  Mark has been known to take fights against whoever you put in front of him and has fought in some big events.  He throws a wicked spinning heel kick which is strictly a headhunter.  But if that don’t catch Andrew’s attention, Mark’s straight right will be looking to pop his chinny.  As for Andrew, big events & big names would work as good scare tactics for a weasel but weasels are not allowed on Man-up & Stand-up.  He feels that Mark is going to be popping nothing but his shoulder when he gets inside on him.  Andrew is training hard, dropping weight & installing some new combinations into his arsenal.  He’s taking this debut serious & is hoping that the only thing Mark will be popping, is chin ups on the ropes when he’s using them to get off the canvas.  Heehee.  Yup yup’ that’s what we like to hear.  Be there when fighter vs promoter – veteran vs virgin – Mark Kumai vs Andrew Garcia.

Brysen Bolohao and Joe Hopps bang one mo gen in a grudge match.  If you weren’t there the first time that these two animals fought.  Then you missed a major battle.  Westsider Bolohao stepped in the ring with no respect for his opponents last name when the bell rang and surprised the whole filcom when he ate a big hook from Eastsider’s  Joe Hopps and asked for 2nds.  Hopps gladly gave him what he asked for but couldn’t put away Bolohao for the night.  It was a close match that could only result in a draw.  This time it’s a grudge match where all draws do not exist on Man-up & Stand-up.  Hopefully Bolohao brings his chin again on Feb 7 but please believe Hopps will add more horsepower to that hook this time & we’ll see if anybody will be asking for 2nds after that.  Get your tickets now for the continuation of the Bolohao vs Hopps story to find out who will receive the happy ending.  Heehee

Garon Reballizsa accepts the challenge against the underdog turned top dog Chante Stafford at 115#.  Both fighters are from the Westside so you know the action will be on point.  Its rare to find matches for Chante at 115# because of him being so dominant at that weight but Man-up & Stand-up was lucky to have Garon who put on his kick @ss boots & stepped up.  Garon hasn’t fought for years but he left the ring undefeated.  He’s quick, has good legs & hands & is looking to show the Westside who has more Westside.  The 115# champ, Chante on the other hand hasn’t fought at 115# for years also but spent most of his time smashing up competition in the 125# class.  He’s one of the most exciting fighters to watch fight when he’s standing in one place & swinging.  And when he’s moving OMG, its like a magic show.  He’s here, then when you blink, he’s gone.  No joke.  Should be interesting what kind of weapons the contender will bring to the champ.  Don’t blink on this match.  These speed demons will bring it like no other 115# fighters can.  But don’t take our word for it.  Come see for yourself.

We will try & post other stories on some of the other matches to give you all a better idea of what kind of action to expect on Feb 7 at the Filcom.  This card is filled with some exciting bouts.  Check out and get your tickets from all participating schools.
